Introduction to Feng-Shui

There seems to be so much mystery regarding Feng-Shui (fung-shway), but it is really quite simple–the art of creating harmony in your environment, whether it is your home, garden, office, etc.  I took classes in 1996 from two ladies who were certified Feng-Shui teachers, and found it to be quite interesting.

In China, it is believed that there is a universal energy form, called qi (chi) that flows through and around all life forms.  There are 3 important levels of qi (chi)–heaven, earth and human.  It is important that all types of energy flows freely, gently, and without impediment–The Yin and the Yang, the balance!

It is impossible to cover everything in one blog, so I will cover a different topic each time I blog about this subject.  The easiest topic to cover is CLUTTER!  There is no more immediate an indication of the state of our mind and body than the way we decorate our homes. Often a cluttered room may be an indication that we feel cluttered in our mind or lives.  Throw away or donate all the unnecessary clutter in your home.  It is believed that by doing so you are triggering your mind to take the same action so that you make space for more important things in your life, allowing clarity and better focus.  Once you have cleared away all unnecessary “stuff”, filed away papers you need, and gotten rid of all those dusty old plastic flowers, you will feel free and unincumbered.  That’s it for now.

See you soon . . .
